The agent of Steaua Bucharest defender Vlad Chiriches has claimed that Chelsea are interested in signing his client.

The 22-year-old is in high demand with the Milan clubs and Zenit St Petersburg tracking the player.

“I can confirm that AC Milan are looking at the player,” the defender’s representative Viktor Becali told calciomercato.com.

“Milan’s sporting director (Ariedo) Braida has seen him play several times both for the national team and for his club team.

“There is nothing concrete yet, though, and it is too early to say what will happen.

“There are many clubs interested in Chiriches - Chelsea, Inter Milan and Zenit [St Petersburg] - but there is nothing concrete in place as yet.”
