Last-wicket pair Tom Wakeford and Daniel Lewis clung on in a tense finish to secure a point against Wembley as North London edged closer to safety in Division Three of the Middlesex County Cricket League.
NL seemed set for defeat after losing their eighth and ninth wickets in successive deliveries, but Wakeford (5 not out) and Lewis (5no) kept the visitors at bay to clinch a losing draw.
Home skipper Jack Atchinson won the toss and chose to field, but Wembley made good progress thanks to opening pair Prinay Patel (27) and Sneh Shah (26).
James Battcock (4-60) kept NL in contention with the wickets of Shah, Moazzam Rizvi (11), Chirag Amin (4) and Ashan Athukoralage (0), but Mitchell Fry remained to hit a classy 66.
Fry, who was eventually caught behind off Lewis (2-22), gained support from Tapan Patel (22) and Chula DeSilva (29) before Ted Greally (4-46) cleaned up the tail for 209 in the 55th over.
NL were soon under pressure when they began their reply, with Pete Monar (4) falling to Shah (3-36) and Patel (3-46) accounting for both Mark Askew (2) and Paul Brierley (9).
Ben Hocking (31) and Rosh Tennakoon (34) steadied the ship, but Patel trapped Hocking lbw and Vimal Arjan (3-37) tilted the balance back in Wembley’s favour.
Arjan got rid of Tennakoon, Atchinson (17) and Greally (1), with Shah returning to remove Battcock (9) and James Baker first ball, but the last pair held on to guide North London to 124-9.
