Sam Bardon’s team lost at home to leaders Brentham last weekend

North London visit Crouch End this weekend in the Middlesex County League Division Three looking to end the season with a win.

The two local rivals have been in the top half for most of the campaign, but Sam Bardon’s team have never really been in a battle for promotion.

Last weekend, they lost by five wickets at home to the likely league champions Brentham.

After calling correctly at the toss, Bardon decided to have a bat first, but saw North London dismissed for 115.

It would have been a whole lot less had last-wicket pair Bill Ward and Ted Greally not put on over fifty at the end.

North London were in all sorts of trouble on 28-7 and then 54-9 with Jack Atchinson out for 19 off 48 balls.

Wicket-keeper Ward stuck around to top score with 44 batting at 10 though, and received superb support from Greally, who hit 12 not out.

In reply, Brentham got over the line with 94 balls to spare despite the solid efforts of both Freddie Issitt (2-16) and Omkar Hushing (2-25).
