Harrow Town held off South Hampstead to take full points from their Middlesex League Division Three encounter.

After choosing to bat first, captain Muhammad Arshad saw his side fall to 39-3 before launching a recovery with Gishan Herath (33), as they put on 98.

Hakeen Rauf (27) supported his skipper in a 51-run stand, but Arshad (89) soon followed him back to the pavilion.

Gihan Herath (32) hit out late on to lift the total to 243, with Saqib Pervez (4-54), Touqeer Ahmad (2-40) and James Williams (2-45) taking the bowling honours for South Hampstead.

And the visitors lost two early wickets in reply, before Williams (45) and Hardeep Ryatt (30) combined forces.

Both fell to Sami Haider, who would finish with fine figures of 6-52 in 16 overs, with Gihan Herath (2-80) getting rid of Ethan Tyrer (24) and Avnish Patel (37).

Number 10 Majid Akram showed late defiance for South Hampstead with 62, but it was in vain in a 31-run loss.
