Site to share party secrets

WHY is it that the women who actually know where to go for that perfect present or what to wear at that "not a party as such, more of a get-together" never share their secrets?

Well, this Christmas, mother and daughter duo Julia and Zoe Stebbing have decided to share their knowledge with a grateful world.

Together they have set up Women Know How, a website for, as Julia delicately puts it, "women of a certain age". What she means is: women who most certainly know what they like, even if they are not sure where to find it.

Julia, 57, whose own mother is still working at 82, has been finding things for people for the last 25 years, ever since she set up her own bed and breakfast agency from her home in Fellows Road, Hampstead.

The agency is still going strong but Julia wanted something more.

"I was sitting there at home one day, listening to the Archers, thinking 'I'm bored, bored, bored'," she explains.

"I could not find a website for London women of around my age and my mother's age to help them enjoy life.

"Over a certain age it was all zimmer frames and dentures," she says.

She decided, more or less on the spot, to set up Women Who Know - a website that matches women to businesses they knew they needed but didn't know where to find.

"The website offers women a variety of food and drink, clothes, jewellery, and lots more," she explains.
