Last week he was playing football at Highgate School, this week it emerges that Justin Bieber hadn’t had to travel far from home to do so.

The 22-year-old popstar is renting a historic north London mansion for £108,000 per month.

Following a £40million renovation the rental property boasts indoor and outdoor pools, a fully-ftted gym, steam room and sauna, a library and a wine cellar for more than 600 bottles so will be perfect for the party-loving Canadian.

Hordes of Beliebers are already gathering outside the 27,000 sq ft property so Bieber will appreciate security features including a steel-walled dressing room in the master bedroom, which doubles as a safe-room with a separate control panel, and telephone lines with wires that can’t be cut – reassuring should the teenage hysteria reach fever pitch.

Bieber is worth an estimated £165m, so the £1.3m annual rent shouldn’t cause too great a dent in his purse.

Worked on by 120 craftsman, the house is packed with luxurious touches to justify the price tag: the bedroom bathtub is carved out of one solid piece of marble and various luxury stones and wooden finishes are used throughout, including on the solid oak staircase with its dramatic night time LED lighting.

White gold leaf is used as an accent feature.

The grade II-listed house was built in 1910 but fell into disrepair. After a seven year renovation the house failed to attract a buyer and it eventually sold in 2015 for a quarter of the original asking price. Stamp duty changes and new regulations for non doms have put off buyers at the super prime end of the market so the house was made available to rent earlier this year.
