Camden Town was the hub for innovators, artists and alternative culture in the 1990’s, before becoming a tourist hotspot in the past decade.

Now, though, it is reclaiming its title as the home of London’s artists - with various new companies setting up shop and a thriving local scene.

Galliard Homes has brought loft-style living right up to the modern day, with the new development Carlow House, just a short walk from Camden Town station.

The setting, which was originally an Edwardian warehouse used for London Underground uniforms and equipment, was converted to offices, and the central feature of Carlow House was added: its incredible central winter garden, the largest in London.

The winter garden can be enjoyed year-round, but when the sun is shining, residents can take advantage of the nearby Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill,.

Fully restored, Galliard Homes have created 85 loft-style apartments, inspired by the chic ‘rough-lux’ language that interior designer Rabih Hage has become known for.

The apartments are studio suites, one and two bedrooms but all benefit from quirky interior features, with exposed brickwork, lovely warehouse-style windows and industrial-inspired brasswork.

A day time concierge is on hand for any requests, whilst the apartments themselves benefit from one-strip hardwood flooring, recessed low-energy LED downlighting and a video entry system, among other including wiring for Sky+.

Kitchens are dual-colour, with smoke grey matt lower cabinets and gloss upper cabinets. Appliances are all Smeg, and are incorporated into grey stone worktops and white glass splashbacks.

The bathrooms have stylish brickwork-inspired white wall tiles, echoing the living spaces, reconstituted stone vanity tops and Victorian-style feature basins.

Prices start from £699,000
