Andros Townsend has signed a new four-year contract with Tottenham - and the winger has hailed his new deal as “the perfect end to a perfect week”.
The 22-year-old, who has come through Spurs’ academy, has exploded into Andre Villas-Boas’ first team at White Hart Lane this season - and he has gone on to star for England.
Townsend earned the man of the match award for his debut showing against Montenegro last Friday - when he scored one goal and set up another - and he was also in fine form in Tuesday’s victory over Poland, which secured England’s place at next summer’s World Cup.
Talks over a new Spurs contract have been going on for around five weeks, and Townsend put pen to paper earlier this afternoon.
He tweeted: “Delighted to have signed a new contract with spurs! The perfect end to the perfect week!! Now let’s get 3points on Sunday! #COYS #2018”
