Transfer news: Stoke manager Tony Pulis has insisted that he is not prepared to sell Ryan Shawcross.
Tottenham and Manchester United have been linked with the defender, who was in Roy Hodgson’s last England squad for games against San Marino and Poland.
“No chance,” Pulis said when asked about his star’s future. “Ryan is our captain and has been selected for England and he is only just 25.
“We won’t see the best of him for another two or three years.
“He was a great signing and the good thing is he wants to get better. He has that desire about him.”
Ferguson admitted that he might have made a mistake in letting the defender leave Old Trafford saying: “We had Jonny Evans, Gerard Pique, Ryan Shawcross, Craig Cathcart, and Paul McShane, and something had to give.
“We made the right decision keeping Jonny Evans but I’m not so sure about letting Shawcross join Stoke.”
Saint Etienne forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has hinted that he would prefer a move to Borussia Dortmund over Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle.
