Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe has thanked well-wishers for their supportive messages after the death of his father
Tottenham star Jermain Defoe is grateful for the messages of support he has received after returning home following the death of his father.
The Spurs striker returned to England from Ukraine, where he was preparing with the Three Lions for Euro 2012, after being informed his father Jimmy had lost his battle with cancer and it is not known when he will return.
“I want to thank the fans, my family and friends, the England boys, the FA and the manager for their support,” he said on Twitter.
“I can’t tell you how much it means to me.
“I love you all may God bless you. A special thank you to Royal Marsden’s doctors & nurses who looked after my dad v.special people.”
