Arsene Wenger says that he wouldn’t swap places with Premier League champions Manchester City despite Arsenal enduring the worst domestic campaign.

Both sides play their final Champions League group game tonight with the Gunners in Athens to face Olympiakos, having already qualified for the knockout stages.

City, on the other hand, play a dead rubber against Borussia Dortmund after their bid to reach the last 16 ended prematurely in the previous round for the second year running.

Domestically, however, Arsenal are down in 10th place and face an uphill battle to get back into the top four where top two the Citizens and rivals Manchester United sit 13 and 15 points above them respectively.

Wenger maintains all is not yet lost as they bid to end seven years without a trophy and asked if he would swap places with Manchester City, the Arsenal manager said: “No, for one simple reason, we have played 15 games, so we have 23 games to come back on them, but once you are out of a cup competition, you cannot come back in again.

“We can make up the distance in the league, but in the Champions League, you are either in or out.”
