Misfiring Arsenal striker draws inspiration from Henry’s slow start in front of goal

Olivier Giroud is using Arsenal’s all-time leading scorer Thierry Henry as his inspiration to get him through his goal drought.
The Frenchman has only scored once for the Gunners since his £12 million move from Montpellier in the summer and that came in the 6-1 Capital One Cup rout of League One Coventry.
The striker started on the bench for Wednesday’s 3-1 Champions League victory at home to Olympiakos although was unfortunate not to score when he had a shot blocked at point-blank range.
He did then provide the knockdown for Aaron Ramsey to run through and chip the keeper but Giroud is not concerned by lack of goals.
He said: “I need some time to get confident and to keep going - Thierry Henry he scored only in his ninth [league] game.
“For strikers it is quite difficult to adapt to the Premier League, but I am always close to scoring goals so I continue to keep confident.”
