West Ham look set to name George McCartney as a replacement for the injured Joey O’Brien for tomorrow’s game against Arsenal.
The left back is a doubt for the game after being forced off in the 2-1 win over QPR and McCartney impressed after coming on as a substitute.
The Hammers will be missing Alou Diarra for the game against Arsenal after he was ruled out with a long-term injury.
Andy Carroll returned from a hamstring problem in West Ham’s win at QPR on Monday but he is short of match fitness and Allardyce is nervous about exposing him to further injury risk.
The Hammers expect Winston Reid to be available after he was knocked out at QPR but Allardyce is less certain about left-back Joey O’Brien (hamstring), while Jack Collison (knee) and Alou Diarra (thigh) are long-term absentees.
Squad: Jaaskelainen, Demel, O’Brien, Reid, Collins, Noble, Diame, Taylor, Maiga, Nolan, Cole, Jarvis, Vaz Te, Benayoun, McCartney, Diarra, Tomkins, Henderson, O’Neil, Carroll.
Saint Etienne forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has hinted that he would prefer a move to Borussia Dortmund over Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle.
