Former Gunner has faith in Frenchman
Former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has said that Arsenal must continue to trust Arsene Wenger and is convinced the Frenchman is the right man to steer the club ‘back on track’.
The Gunners have not won a trophy since 2006 and although are currently fourth are battling it out with Chelsea and Newcastle for the final Champions League spot.
Fabregas left the north London club in August to rejoin Barcelona after spending eight years with Wenger’s side and has no doubts they will be successful again.
“If I can’t see Barca without Pep (Guardiola), I see Arsenal without Wenger even less,” Fabregas told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He has been there for 16 years, he is the only Arsenal coach I have known. It would be strange, very strange to see Arsenal without Wenger.
“I feel sad when I see Arsenal lose. But in football things can change from one day to the next and I am sure that a great club like Arsenal will soon be back on track.”
Arsenal continue their bid to solidify their fourth place position this weekend when they face Liverpool at Anfield.
