Arsenal star discusses significance of his goal against West Ham

Olivier Giroud was relieved to score his first Premier League goal for Arsenal in their 3-1 win over West Ham, and is confident it can be a turning point.
The France striker came in for criticism after failing to find the net in his first seven appearances for the club following his summer arrival from Montpellier.
But the 26-year-old latched onto a Lukas Podolski cross to score Arsenal’s first goal against the Hammers and also netted against Coventry in the Capital One Cup.
Giroud is now hoping his strike against the Hammers can help him turn his fortunes around for Arsene Wenger’s side.
“I’m very happy to have scored and that we won,” he told Arsenal’s official website.
“It was a difficult game against a very good team, who play well at home.
“We were better in the second half and [were able] to play through their lines. I think we finished the game better.
“I feel relieved now. It was very important for me to score in the Premier League, to keep going and start my adventure here with Arsenal.”

Brick Lane Comedy Festival cancelled after opposition from community groups
