Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen admitted that assistant manager Steve Bould was unhappy with the Gunners at half-time.
The north Londoners went into the interval at 1-1 as Gervinho’s opener was cancelled out by Kostas Mitroglou but were much improved in the second half with Lukas Podolski and Aaron Ramsey scoring to have a comfortable 3-1 victory.
“He wasn’t angry but he said where things went wrong,” Vermaelen told Sky Sports. “We did things much better in the second half.
“He wanted us to be more cautious with the balls.
“I think the win gives us a lot of confidence. It’s important to win your home games in the Champions League.”
