Plans have been unveiled to ensure that Camden has the country’s best schools by 2020.
Cllr Angela Mason, cabinet member for children, presented a report to cabinet last week outlining plans to introduce an improvement programme devised in collaboration with all state schools.
The report noted the council’s success in raising achievement in primary schools and stated that “progress is being made to replicate this at secondary school level”.
Cllr Mason said: “The fact is that our schools are already doing well: 93 per cent of current local authority-maintained provision in Camden is rated good or outstanding by Ofsted, and that’s well above national and London figures.
“Our model needs constant improvement and development and what this [improvement programme] will bring in is the expertise and skill and talents of all our schools, which are very considerable.”
