Schoolchildren built life-size puppets during a day of fun at the London Jewish Cultural Centre.

A group of 25 youngsters, aged eight to 14, built 6ft puppets from recycled cardboard boxes and toilet roll tubes, assembled with tape, at the centre in Ivy House, North End Road, Golders Green, on Monday.

The children, split into groups, then performed for each other, taking their puppets for a walk with each group member in control of a separate body part.

Arts education expert Oliver Hymans led the workshop, which is part of the FUSION Summer Bonanza programme.
