Pop-ups seem to be all the rage at the moment in Camden.

Police stations are set to close and be replaced by temporary cop-shops in cafés and community centres, and now Camden Town Hall is taking a similar approach to solving night-time nuisance in Camden Town.

Over the festive period officials road tested “pop-up urinals” outside popular haunts and the portable loos could soon be a regular feature of a night out.

Roy Walker, chairman of the Camden Community and Police Consultative Group, said: “They [revellers] are using people’s entrances and gardens and public areas as public urinals and that’s a big problem at the moment.”

One official said: “The trial with the toilets went very well. We will have to see how we go.”
