Around 100 children from schools across Camden enjoyed a day of Olympic-themed fun in the sun as part of a summer school run by a former Hampstead teacher.
The youngsters, aged from six to 13, spent the day at University College School (UCS) playing fields, in Ranulf Road, Fortune Green, last Thursday, as part of Sport Academies summer camp.
Children on the day were treated to coaching in a range of Olympic sports, including volleyball, football, handball and tennis coaching.
Paul Clarke, 30, a former UCS PE teacher, founded The Academies summer camps, which offers Sport Academies, alongside a number of other camps for children during school holidays.
He said: “We had lots of football going on and we also had baseball and capoeira – the national sport of Brazil, which is fitting ahead of the next Olympics in Rio.
“The facilities at UCS are just beautiful and I want kids from all over to use them. That’s my real passion – to get kids using those facilities.”
