Judith Dimant, 51, is a producer for world-famous British theatre company Complicite. The mother-of-two has lived in Tufnell Park for more than 20 years and was awarded an MBE for services to theatre in the Queen’s birthday honours list earlier this month.

What brought you to Tufnell Park?

I grew up in Hampstead Garden Suburb – going to Brookland Primary School and then Camden School for Girls. When my sister moved out she had a flat share in Tufnell Park and I followed her there several years later. I’ve lived in three different roads in Tufnell Park over the last 20 years.

You have a day off to spend as you wish in the area, what would you get up to?

I would probably have breakfast in the Tufnell Park Tavern and then head to Kentish Town, to the Owl Bookshop. If it’s raining I would sneak off to the Phoenix Cinema, in East Finchley (I love it), and if the weather is good I would head to Parliament Hill Lido.

What makes Tufnell Park a special place to live?

It’s got a real sense of community. My street has an annual street party, it’s got some decent places to hang out. Once people move into the area, it’s difficult to move out.

Is there anything about Tufnell Park which you would like to see changed or improved?

There are too many road humps. But mainly Tufnell Park is special for not being at all pretentious.

A film is set to be made about your life. Which actor would you choose to play you?

Kate Winslet – only because she has a birth mark on her face, above her lip, in exactly the same place as me.

Who is the most inspiring person you have ever met?

Sanjna Kapoor, a theatre colleague in India who built a theatre from scratch in a suburb of Mumbai that’s open every day to people of all ages. She’s wonderful and knows how to throw a good party.

If you had to write your own epitaph, what would it say?

She gave it her best shot, but she talked too loudly on the phone.
