Bonfire Night is certainly a spectacular event which kids and adults alike look forward to for much of the year. Make sure you stay safe, and try out our Guy Fawkes quiz whilst you’re here as well!

It is important to remember that fireworks night has the capability to be one of the most dangerous nights if you aren’t careful.

Experts at BillyOh.com have come up with a handy little guide to ensure that you will stay safe this weekend.

How to light fireworks

Fireworks are lots of fun but it is important to remember explosives can be extremely dangerous if not treated properly.

•It is important to place fireworks on a flat surface and light with a long tipped lighter.

•Make sure you have water nearby in case you have to put out sparks or embers.

•Read the instructions carefully

Keep your pets safe!

Firework bangs and pets just do not go together. So it’s important to make sure your animals feel as comfortable as possible.

•Cats and dogs should be kept indoors. Take your dog on a long walk before dusk. Cover hutches with a blanket.

•And let your neighbours know if you plan on setting off fireworks so they can take safety precautions.

It is illegal to set off fireworks after midnight on Bonfire Night and after 11pm on any other night. Category 4 fireworks should only be used by professionals.
