Archant

A historic video clip of Camden children racing down slides and playing on swings at the opening of an adventure playground in 1963 has been released on Youtube for the first time.

The opening of the playground near Arlington Road in Camden Town was attended by DJ David Jacobs and former Holborn and St Pancras MP Geoffrey Johnson-Smith.

The videos were uploaded by news agency Associated Press and newsreel archive Movietone on their Youtube accounts in the largest ever upload of historical footage on the website.
