Having matching genes wasn’t enough for Rheeya and Shreeya Naik, a pair of identical twins who collected their A-level results from Henrietta Barnett School in Hampstead Garden Suburb.

They instead had to also study exactly the same subjects. Then choose exactly the same degree. And finally put as their first choice exactly the same university.

They are also hoping to do exactly the same career.

So it of course came as no surprise when they opened their results to find they had each achieved exactly the same grades.

Both getting an A* in maths and As in Biology and Chemistry, the 18-year-olds are off to study dentistry at King’s College London.

Explaining their choice of degree to the Ham&High, they said: “We’re so similar in every way - except for our teeth.

“And we find that really interesting.

“Despite being identical twins, we found out when we got braces that our jaw structures are very different. It’s quite strange.”

They weren’t the only ones overjoyed to discover their matching success during yesterday’s results day.

Mother Manisha, who works in accounting, said the whole family had been “up all night with nerves”.

She said: “We’re all so happy.

“Last night I couldn’t sleep. It was always on my mind about whether one would do better than the other, and if one would be left behind.

“But fortunately they got identical grades.

“We have always encouraged them to do different things and different classes but they ended up studying the same subjects and wanting to do the same profession.”
