The newest representative to join Camden Council will be picked in a by-election today.

Gospel Oak residents have the chance to choose between five candidates to replace Labour’s Maeve McCormack, who resigned in March because she could no longer afford to live in the borough.

Air pollution, school funding, rubbish collections and Brexit are among the main issues that the hopefuls have fought over.

The candidates are: Marcus Boyland for Labour, Stephen Crosher for the Liberal Democrats, Dee Searle for the Green Party, Marx de Morais for the Conservatives and Giles Game for Ukip.

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm.

The polling stations are: Gospel Oak Methodist Church in Agincourt Road; Kiln Place Tenants Association Hall in Kiln Place and Queens Crescent Community Centre in Ashdown Crescent.
