The newly franchised Crouch End Post Office is to reopen on Monday.

It comes after a “major refit” of the shop in Topsfield Parade.

The Post Office is now combined with a stationery shop, Universal Office Equipment (UOE).

Last year, campaigners, including Hornsey and Wood Green MP Catherine West, waged an unsuccessful campaign against the Post Office being franchised.

There were 2,500 people who signed a petition to “save” it, with fears the shop combo would lead to poor service.

Ahead of the opening this week, UOE said there was nothing to worry about.

It said in a press release: “Around four times bigger than the old Post Office, the extensive renovations have resulted in a modernised building that offers a better customer experience, including more fully trained staff members and new open-plan counters for faster transactions and a priority counter for business banking and travel customers.”
