Firework watching on Primrose Hill, to “unpretentious fun” in Crouch End, festivities on New Year’s Eve.

People from across London will descend onto Primrose Hill on New Year’s Eve to take up one of the best seats in the capital to view the celebrations and fireworks across London.

The Hill promises better views than most other London parks, and there should be a jubilant atmosphere as the clock strikes midnight.

The Royal Parks’ team will be keeping the area open until 1am, allowing revellers to take in the sights of fireworks, including a prime view of the famous London New Year’s Eve fireworks over the Thames.

Fireworks and paper lanterns are banned from being set off on Primrose Hill itself, and police will be at the gates to stop anybody attempting to bring them in.

Entry is free, and the closest tube station is Camden Town on the Northern line. Chalk Farm station will close at 9pm.

Travel on the TfL network between 11.45pm and 4.30am is also free.

The Metropolitan Police is advising people to plan their journeys in advance, and to keep an eye on belongings when queuing for transport or outside venues.

On the night itself, temperatures are set to be around 7 degrees Celsius. No rain is currently forecast.

In Crouch End, Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre (HTHAC) are throwing a New Year’s Eve Party, billed as “an unpretentious night of fun.”

There will be live music, bars open until late, DJ’s, a silent disco, and a huge balloon drop and hot food will be available.

Tickets for the event, starting at 9pm are available from the HTHAC website, and cost £15.
