The headteacher of a Highgate nursery said she was “delighted” after inspectors said her school has improved “significantly”.

Education watchdog Ofsted handed The Nursery Montessori Highgate, in Woodside Avenue, a “requires improvement” rating in a report published on April 24 after an inspection in March, one level above the lowest grade.

The nursery, for 25 children aged two to five, failed two inspections in March and September last year in their latest report inspectors say the school has made “significant improvement” since then.

Headteacher Eleanor Sweby said: “I’m delighted. I love what I do with a passion and I had the opportunity to come back and put it back on track.”

Inspectors also visited the Maria Montessori School in Lyndhurst Gardens, Hampstead, and rated it as ‘good’, the second highest grade.
