Art students from William Ellis School have exhibited their work for the first time at a historic Highgate house.

Artwork by 20 A-level students is taking pride of place at Lauderdale House in Waterlow Park as part of a two week show which ends tomorrow (Friday).

Younger pupils aged 11 and 12 are also exhibiting their work in the upper and long galleries.

The exhibition, called Spaces, Places, Traces, is William Ellis’s first at Lauderdale House, which regularly exhibits work by professional artists.

But the school’s head of art, Sophie Pearce, is keen to have more community based projects.

She said: “Everyone on this project has worked really hard and it has made a positive impact on students.

‘‘Being involved in a real life exhibition has raised their confidence.”
