A terrified female passenger was sexually assaulted in a northern line train carriage by a man with his face covered and wielding a baseball bat.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident which happened on the Edgware branch between Chalk Farm and Belsize Park on February 4 between 5:30 and 6pm.

They have put posters up at tube stations around the area.

A poster at Hampstead Tube station reads: “A male who had his face covered and was carrying a baseball bat sexually assaulted a female on board a northbound Northern Line train, Edgware branch.”
