Thames Water has called on Highgate residents to sign up to a security scheme to protect against bogus callers after several elderly residents were scammed by men pretending to be from the utility company in March and April.

Customers who sign up to the scheme set up a password, which any Thames Water employee must quote on the doorstep before
entering the property.

To sign up, call Thames Water on 0845 641 006.
