A man has admitted breaking into primary schools across Camden to steal tablet computers and other high-value electronic items.

Gregory Stevens targeted three primary schools and a secondary during a five-week crime spree in February and March this year.

He took £9,000 worth of equipment in two raids on Rosary Roman Catholic Primary School in Haverstock Hill, Belsize Park, including three iPads.

The 39-year-old stole further computer equipment from St Michael’s Primary School in Camden Street, Camden Town, and Haverstock School in Haverstock Hill, Chalk Farm.

He also broke into Brecknock Primary School in Cliff Villas, Camden Town, and burgled an older people’s day centre, a dental practice, an English language centre and a homeless shelter.

Stevens, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to 10 counts of burglary at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 14.

He will be sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court.
