Police are appealing for information after a woman was touched inappropriately at Euston station.

British Transport Police (BTP) have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place on Saturday, January 18.

Det Cons Vicki Bladen, the investigating officer, said: “The victim, a 37-year-old woman, was waiting at a restaurant in the station around 8.50pm with her husband, when she felt a man, who was part of a larger group of men, had touched her inappropriately.

“The woman confronted the man and managed to take an image on a mobile phone.”

Officers launched an investigation and, after viewing CCTV from the area, have released an image of a man they want to speak to.

DC Bladen said: “We do not tolerate unwanted sexual behaviour of any kind on the transport network and take all reports seriously.

“If you recognise the man pictured, or have any information that could help our investigation, please contact us.”

The appeal comes as part of Project Guardian, a multi-agency initiative involving BTP, the Metropolitan Police Safer Transport Command, City of London Police and Transport for London.

It aims to improve the number of sexual offences reported to police and create an environment on the transport network which does not tolerate intimidation and sexual harassment.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting background reference LNA/B7 of 12/02/2014 or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
