A man accused of killing a robbery victim in a Marylebone street has denied murder.

Terry Smylie, 26, of no fixed address, is alleged to have pushed 45-year-old Michael Walser to the ground shortly after he withdrew £150 from a cashpoint near Morris House in Samford Street, Lisson Grove, at 10.28pm on June 19.

Mr Walser fell and hit his forehead on the pavement. Five days later, he was found dead at his flat in Gloucester Terrace, Paddington.

A post-mortem examination revealed that he had suffered a subdural haemorrhage.

Smylie appeared at the Old Bailey on Thursday, November 8, and denied a single charge of murder.

He was remanded in custody until his trial, slated for the Old Bailey on May 7 next year.
