A chocolate thief from King’s Cross has been banned from visiting three major railway stations in north London.

Kiarra Richards, 34, of York Way, was given the one-year order at a hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on September 22.

She was convicted of three counts of theft, one count of common assault, one count of criminal damage, one count of using threatening, abusive words or behaviour, one count of racially aggravated harassment, and loitering on the railway.

One of the theft charges relates to an ilicit chocolate haul, totalling nearly £30.

The incident, on August 30, saw British Transport Police called to reports of shoplifting at Sainsbury’s in Euston station.

Richards had refused to let a security guard check her bag, and when police were called, she knocked over a drinks cans stand.

As she was detained by officers, Richards, who refused to be interviewed, was racially abusive.

If she breaches the order, Richards could be jailed.

Inspector Tim Tubbs said: “Retail theft or racist abuse will not be tolerated on the railway.”
