A fugitive suspected of raping a woman while on the run has been arrested in Camden.

Ivan Leach, from Preston in Lancashire, absconded from North Sea Camp open prison in Boston, Lincolnshire on October 9 and is believed to have travelled to Hampstead.

Mr Leach, also known as Lee Cyrus, 47, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday (December 2) in connection with a number of offences he is believed to have committed while on the run.

Police would not say where he had been arrested in the borough, but were expecting to be able to release further details later.
