A prolific armed robber who held up banks while on day release from prison has been handed three life sentences.
Sean Bradish, 46, of Shoot Up Hill, Kilburn, was told he will serve a minimum of 17 years as he was sentenced at the Old Bailey on Friday.
Police launched an operation to catch him after seven armed raids from April 2012 to March 2013.
Four were at Lloyds TSB in Finchley Road.
Bradish pleaded guilty to six counts of armed robbery, one of attempted armed robbery.
He was originally jailed in 2002 after carrying out at least 100 bank and building society raids.
Det Serg Ben Kennedy, of the Flying Squad, said: “A number of the victims caught up in the robberies genuinely feared for their lives and are still coming to terms with their terrifying ordeals.”
