The 39-year-old woman was walking along Regents Park Road at 9pm when she was grabbed from behind by a man while another man snatched her handbag.

A pram, which the woman’s baby son was inside, was pushed and rolled into a parked car.

The woman was then punched to the floor and her engagement ring, watch, iPhone and a charm bracelet were forcefully removed.

She walked onto Regents Park Road from Chalk Farm Road and Haverstock Hill.

The woman was treated at a local hospital and discharged the same evening.

She suffered swelling and bruising to her face.

One of the muggers was white, 6ft tall, of stocky build and the other black and 5ft 9in tall.

Both had London accents and were wearing puffa-type jackets with black hats and scarves covering their faces.

Police have issued an appeal for information.

Det Con Melvin Sergeant, of Camden police, said: “This was a truly unpleasant crime on a lady who is 17 weeks pregnant and with a baby - especially at Christmas time.

“Thankfully, the baby and unborn child were unharmed, however, I appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard anything to contact police.

“We understand that the bracelet was of sentimental value and I urge anyone, even those responsible, to think again and return it.

“This was a cowardly act on a vulnerable person and we are following several lines of enquiry to apprehend those responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
