A Kentish Town man has admitted stabbing a Liverpool football fan to death in a bar in Camden Town.
Paul Beck, 29, of Spring Place, pleaded guilty to murder at the Old Bailey today, after stabbing Alex Jarmay, 26, in February.
His brother Damien, 24, of the same address, pleaded guilty to wounding Alex’s brother Luke Jarmay, 22. His plea of not guilty to murder was accepted.
Alex, of Bromborough, Wirral, died after being stabbed at Bar Uno, in Inverness Street, before collapsing outside, in what appeared to be a random attack.
He had travelled to the capital with his brother and friends to watch the Reds play Cardiff in the Carling Cup final, which Liverpool won the next day.
The group of around 12 friends had gone out for a quiet drink on the night of the murder.
Outside court, Det Insp Mark Lawson said: “We have watched CCTV and this appears to have been a random attack. They did nothing to provoke this attack.
“We just don’t know what happened. The worst thing is that it could have been anyone.”
The Beck brothers were remanded in custody to re-appear for sentencing tomorrow.
