The owner of a luxury clothes shop that was targeted in a ram-raid hopes the teenage culprits convicted of the crime last week will “sort themselves out”.
Moreno Ferraro, who opened Linea fashion boutique in Heath Street, Hampstead, in 1991, said the burglary in June had little impact on his business, as the youths were unable to get to the designer brands inside before police arrived.
But he hopes the conviction will have a greater effect on the lives of the two teenagers, found guilty of burglary at Highbury Corner Youth Court last Thursday.
Mr Ferraro, who was quickly at the scene after his alarm system was triggered, said: “They could not get in so there was not really big damage.
“If it’s going to stop or not: this is the only problem.
“For me, it doesn’t change my life, it’s more for them that the system works.
“Hopefully they’re going to do a lot of thinking about what they have done and hopefully they won’t do it again.
“My life hasn’t been changed – it’s them who need to sort themselves out.”
