Countdown star Rachel Riley is among a host of celebrity dog lovers including TOWIE’s Lauren Goodger who will flock to Primrose Hill on Saturday for the annual Pup Aid dog show.

During the show the hunt will be on to find the pooch who looks most like a celebrity.

Last year it was Mugly that walked off with the top prize for his likeness to rapper Snoop Dogg.

Chihuahua Ollie followed close on his tail winning second prize as pianist Liberace.

This year the Ham&High is judging the celebrity lookalike category at the annual event.

So if your pet is the spitting image of a star come along and show us.

Other categories include best rescue dog, child’s best friend and golden oldies at the show to raise awareness of the cruel practice of puppy farming.

Rachel Riley, who is a keen supporter of Pup Aid, told the Ham&High: “I love this event. I don’t have a dog, only cats, so it is a great excuse to cuddle up to other people’s dogs for the day.

“It is such a good charity to raise awareness about the cruel practice of puppy farming. If you want to get a pet you must be very careful about where it comes from.”

Pup Aid was founded by veterinary surgeon Marc Abraham in 2010. Marc holds the celebrity dog show every September.

Rachel, who has mentioned the charity on Countdown, said: “He is very passionate about the charity and I have been to the last two events to show my support.”

Rachel has three rescue cats. “I grew up with animals at home, including rescue lizards and turtles as my brother studied zoology.

“I do not believe you are a ‘cat person’ or a ‘dog person’ but can love both equally.”

Two of Rachel’s cats, Beasty and Rafa, were rescued after being neglected and kept in a dirty, cold shed by a previous owner. “If you want a pet, it is wonderful to be able to give a good home to an animal that really needs it. It is a myth that they all have behavioural problems.”

She is hoping that her dancer boyfriend Pasha Kovalev will have a day off from the new series of Strictly Come Dancing to attend.

Among other celebrity supporters of the charity are TV’s Lauren Goodger, from The Only Way is Essex, who has been tweeting about the event.

Meg Mathews, interior designer and ex-wife of Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher, is a Pup Aid patron and has been a judge at previous events.
