Clean Bandit cellist Grace Chatto has been lined up to bring added sparkle to Crouch End by turning on the Christmas lights at this year’s Christmas market.

Along with bandmates Jack Patterson, Luke Patterson and Neil Amin-Smith the Cambridge graduate has recorded a string of hits including last year’s Christmas number one Rockabye.

Ms Chatto will be on the green outside Hornsey Town Hall to flick the switch in a ceremony starting at 5pm.

But the fun starts long before with a string of acts – Choir Baby, Crouch End Festival Chorus and Musical Youth London – set to hit the festival stage from 11.30am.

A day packed with Christmas cheer will see stallholders inside and outside the Town Hall in Crouch End Broadway selling handmade goods from cards to candles, cushions to baby clothes and more.

The market’s success, however, depends on a team of volunteers who organise the festive fun each year.

The organisers - who also stage Crouch End Festival every summer – have called for help to set up and take down stalls.
