Football fans across Camden will be able to watch tonight’s key clash between England and Croatia on big screens, the council has announced.

The public screens will be erected in Russell Square, and Talacre Gardens in Kentish Town for people to follow every kick and tackle.

Kick-off for the semi-final is 7pm.

No tickets are required for the two locations. Chairs and picnic blankets will also be provided on request.

The council has said no alcohol will be allowed inside the two screenings.

The screening has been part-funded by Better, who work with the authority on leisure activities.

Leader of the council, Georgia Gould said: “England’s march towards the World Cup final continues and we’re going to cheer the team on here in Camden with big screens at two great locations.

“I’d like to send a massive thank you to our leisure partners Better who have generously part-funded the screenings of these games, contributing half the money. We really appreciate their support in making this happen for our communities.

“I’ll be down at Talacre this evening, I’m looking forward to residents of all ages coming along, sharing the community spirit and creating a fun, family atmosphere through cheering on England in this huge game.”
