The Camden Town home where singer Amy Winehouse was found dead was auctioned off on Monday (December 3) for £1.9million.

Although the three-bedroom house had previously been put on the market for £2.7million, a number of deals fell through and the singer’s family sought the services of auctioneer McHugh & Co.

The four-storey home in Camden Square has become an unofficial shrine to the jazz singer since she was found dead at the semi-detatched property on July 23 last year. The 27-year-old died of a alcohol poisoning.

The catalogue listing made no mention of the property’s illustrious former resident or her death, but described the London pile as a “spacious well-planned accommodation arranged on four floors” with a “music room with sound-proofed walls”.

Four bidders contested the property at the sale, held at the headquarters of Bafta in Piccadilly, and the house was sold for just above the listing guide of £1.8million.
