Painters, performers and pop stars gathered to mark the opening of the 2023 Crouch End Open Studios.

Luther actor Indira Varma, and Wolf Alice vocalist and guitarist Ellie Rowsell, were among 300 guests who gathered at the Original Gallery in Hornsey Library on Friday.

Running until May 21, the group exhibition features more than 50 artworks by local painters, printmakers, sculptors, photographers and ceramicists.

Over the course of the week they will be on hand to discuss their work and take part in a programme of workshops and talks.

It is one of two exhibitions this year which replace the usual art trail around Crouch End - started by local artists nearly 20 years ago.

Annie Zamero showed a satirical cartoon inspired by the recent Coronation and the Tiepolo painting The Triumph of Zephyrus and Flora; with King Charles III and Queen Camilla shot by the late Princess Diana as a cupid with poison-dipped arrow.

Crouch End artist Craig Barnard was delighted that the subject of his piece, Uncle Kitt, who he sculpted from life, dropped into the event.
