Talented Highgate residents are showing their creative efforts at an art exhibition this month.

It's the second year running that the Holly Lodge Estate has called for work by local artists to display in its community centre.

Last year, the first Holly Lodge Art Exhibition featured around 100 works by artists - many from the historic 1920s estate, and surrounding roads.

Organiser Josh Cedar of the Holly Lodge Residents' Association said the second edition of the show looked set to generate an even bigger response. with around 50 artists involved, 30 from Holly Lodge itself and the rest "fairly local, with a few dotted further away".

"For the second year in a row we are running an exciting exhibition of local artists' work at the Community Centre," he said.

"It is a real mixture of artists with a few professionals, lots of very talented amateurs, and some equally talented beginners who have never exhibited their work before - all combining to provide some knock out work.

"It's not just painting, but also mosaic, ceramics, textiles and sculpture. There's a great range of around 100 pieces of artwork with some for sale while other artists are just happy to exhibit their work."
