Number Twelve
Number Twelve, a modern European restaurant, opened on Upper Woburn Place, WC1 close to St Pancras International in October last year under the guiding hand of head chefSantino Busciglio, whose previous experience includes Michelin- starred Zafferano.
Santino delights in bringing his Italian heritage and love of the freshest British seasonal ingredients to his menus.
Attention to detail is what makes Number Twelve special.
Six different breads are baked every morning using organic flour ordered from a specialist supplier in Italy.
Gressingham duck and Cornish mackerel are cured and smoked on the premises, showing an attention to detail rarely found in London restaurants.
Pastas, gnocchi and ice creams are also all homemade, nothing else being good enough for this demanding chef.
Santino believes Britain is the home of some of the best ingredients to be found anywhere in the world: Middle White pork, Donald Russell beef, fish from small South Coast day boats, diver scallops from Orkney, Welsh salt marsh lamb the list is endless.
With these fantastic ingredients and his Italian passion, Santino creates interesting menus that are a joy to savour.
A carefully chosen wine list, all available by the bottle, carafe or glass, perfectly complements this wonderful array of delicacies.
Although only open a few months, Number Twelve has caused a noticeable stir amongst food critics - the restaurant regularly features in Time Out magazine's Food & Drink 50 and will appear on the BBC's Celebrity Masterchef in Spring.
Santino is excited about the launch of a new Sunday brunch menu from 2nd March (Mothers Day) because it gives him a chance to do something for everyone in the family.
