A THEATRE group for the retired started this week in Swiss Cottage to give older people the chance to learn from professionals.

It is affiliated to the Hampstead Theatre education department and specialises in scriptwriting and the history of theatre from the time of the ancient Greeks.

Part of the curriculum includes attending matinees at the theatre as well as lectures from specialists.

The class will also be writing a play about the Hampstead area for a show in July.

Anyone interested in the class on Wednesdays at the Swiss Cottage community centre should call 020-7586 5272.
