Our Lady of Muswell Hill Primary School is on the up after receiving an upgrade in its Ofsted rating.
The school is “delighted and proud” of their upturn in fortunes, following its inspection in November which resulted in a change in grading from “good” to “outstanding”.
Teachers were described as having “excellent subject knowledge” and the ability to “plan interesting lessons that engage and motivate pupils”, while students were lauded for making “outstanding progress” with “high attainment in reading, writing and mathematics”.
The report states that “senior leaders and governors work very well to embed the school’s Catholic values”.
The only area of further improvement noted by inspectors was to raise children’s achievement in the early years by increasing the support and guidance students receive when they are working independently.
Headteacher Angela McNicholas said: “We have always been proud of OLM: our values, our children, our staff, our community.
“To have that pride recognised and vindicated by Ofsted is tremendous news. Ofsted’s classification of our school as “outstanding” recognises that we offer a broad and exciting curriculum in an environment where children feel valued and are nurtured.”
TreeHouse School in Muswell Hill has once again been rated “outstanding” by Ofsted.
The specialist school, provided by national charity Ambitious about Autism achieved the regulatory body’s highest rating during an inspection in November.
Ofsted praised the school’s leadership team for maintaining an “outstanding quality of education” adding that the school’s vision for making the ordinary possible for children with autism was “palpable”.
The report also praised staff for their “exceptional levels of care and guidance” which have resulted in “significant improvements in pupil’s behaviour and emotional well-being”.
Headteacher Kerry Sternstein said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Ofsted has recognised the amazing work our dedicated staff team carry out every day at TreeHouse School.
“Their outstanding efforts are helping children with autism to learn, thrive and achieve and I’d like to thank them all for unwavering commitment.”
