Arsenal Mediawatch - Spend less, but win more
Arsenal are the lowest-spending member of Europe's elite football clubs - official.
The Football Transfer Review 2010 said the Gunners spent €2 million less than its closest rival, AC Milan.
More impressively, it found 39.6 per cent of Arsenal players in the Champions League were homegrown (spending at least three years at the club between the ages of 15 and 21) - a stat only beaten by Barcelona.
Off the pitch, Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber says Stan Kroenke - who purchased 10 more shares this week - is made for Arsenal.
"Stan is very, very bright and a capable sports man - and I think he will be a good owner of Arsenal," Garber told Associated Press.
Meawhile, north-east daily, the Shields Gazette, was generous to Arsenal, despite Sunderland's first win over the Gunners since 2000.
"Despite being under-strength and under-par on Saturday, Arsenal's fluid, athletic play was still a joy to watch - only the cutting edge was missing.
"It's impossible to imagine a boring game featuring the current Arsenal side."
With Irish supporters calling for the guillotine for one Thierry Henry, it's nice to see the Frenchman admit he is still seething at Arsenal's very own handball injustice - back in 2001.
He told Canal Plus: "I lost the FA Cup final when Stephane Henchoz handballed. Everybody saw it but the referee!"
Another departed Gooner, Kolo Toure, is also unhappy - with a former Emirates team-mate.
"I had problems with certain players at Arsenal, especially one, whose name I will not say because I don't want to feed the controversy," he told Eurogoals.
"My wish was to finish my career at Arsenal, but there's always banana skins."
Fredrik Ljungberg says Arsenal MUST end their trophy drought.
The Swede - now at Seattle - told bbc.co.uk: "When I first went to Arsenal, Pat Rice told me 'just so you know, if you do not win a trophy here every season it is not good enough'. I got that banged into my head."
Swiss international winger Tranquillo Barnetta's agent says Arsenal are not interested in signing him from Bayer Leverkusen.
Franco Moretti told Sport.co.uk : "There's nothing in the links with Arsenal. We have extended Tranquillo's contract with Bayer Leverkusen only two weeks ago - I have never spoken with Arsenal in the last two years about any of my players.
"If Arsenal want a player they find a solution with the club, not with the agent. I know people at Arsenal and when we talk they never speak about Barnetta, only youth players.
